Coming to Arabba on holiday? Discover what to pack!
Dear guest, if you are visiting this page you are looking for the same small but important tips that I myself look for when I go on holiday with my family, the same information that is usually difficult to find.
Arabba is located in the heart of the Dolomites at an altitude of 1600 m. Even in the summer time there can be days with typically autumnal temperatures, many excursions also take you to an altitude of between 2200 and 3200 m so it is important to remember to bring some clothing or things that are indispensable (there's always the possibility to buy them once you are here if you do forget them).
Whatever time of the year you want to visit the Dolomites, spend your holiday in Arabba or be our guests, here's what you should remember to pack:
A jacket or a heavy windbreaker, even in the summer we can get relatively low temperatures for the season. It is important to opt for comfortable clothes that are not too light: the temperature in the Dolomites is always lower than in the city.
We recommend you bring boots or trekking shoes to tackle even easy summer walks in the best way with suitable footwear. In the winter restaurants, pizzerias and shops can be reached easily on foot from the Hotel so you don't have to use the car: suitable shoes on the other hand are needed.
Sun cream, even for children. At 2000 m the sun can be very strong, the fresh air and the cool temperatures of the rocks on the Dolomites are deceptive and many guests return to the Hotel with a typical poppy red colour. During the winter, helped by the reflection of the white blanket of snow that covers everything the sun tans with a "mirror" effect.
Children's identity documents, as they are necessary to get reductions and discounts when buying ski passes in winter and the summer pass in the summer, as well as to check-in the Hotel.
Camera (substituted in many cases by excellent smart phones) to immortalize and/or share the breathtaking scenery found only in the most beautiful mountains in the world.
Here is a short list of the things that our guests usually forget to bring. Our intention is to "remind you not to forget":
- telephone and tablet battery charger
- a belt
- slippers for the room
- a rain coat or a Gore-Tex jacket
The most important thing however is to make your suitcase as small as possible so as to make it easier to understand what is really necessary and important.
Have you ever thought of finding a way of travelling light or without luggage?
We have a small tip for you: the luggage service.
Prepare you bags calmly before departure, contact the service on the following link, INSAMEXPRESS will come to your home, pick up your bags and bring them to the Hotel. On the day of departure you can leave your bags at the reception and the luggage service will take your bags home for you.
