The area is characterized by the natural spectacle of the Dolomites, unique and therefore protected by the UNESCO Foundation as a World Heritage Site.
Modern ski lifts and slopes groomed to perfection, the guarantee of snow from late November to mid-April, thanks to artificial snow making facilities, make our DolomitiSuperSki zone, one of the best ski areas in the world, a paradise for skiers and snowboarders alike.
The Arabba skiing area, characterised by a variety of slopes, magical landscapes and the warm hospitality of the Ladin people is the ideal location for more demanding and expert skiers seeking new emotions and breathtaking ski slopes.
Highlights of the area:
- The "Fodoma" ski slope, the "black run" par excellence: for skiers looking for downhill thrills.
- The fantastic "Lagazuoi" ski tour: a journey through the magnificent scenery of Mount Lagazuoi on the Falzarego pass up to the Scottoni Refuge to be pulled by a horse and carriage up to La Villa. A unique and unforgettable experience.
- Sellaronda: starting from the north side of Arabba, at the foot of Portavescovo in a clockwise direction (orange run), then anticlockwise to the foot of Piz Boé (green run).
From Arabba on skis you can reach the 4 most beautiful ski areas in the Dolomites - Superski, Val di Fassa, Val Gardena, Alta Badia, and the Marmolada glacier, that are all connected by the Sellaronda.
Ski pass: we recommend the DolomitiSuperSki pass that is valid for all the above mentioned areas. Alternatively each individual area sells their own ski passes that are limited to use in each area.
The tour around the Sella group the so-called "Sellaronda", is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the entire alpine region, passing through the Ladin valleys of the Dolomites: Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, Arabba - Fodom and Val Badia and has ski slopes of varying difficulty that can satisfy all skiing fans.
The Sella group , with the highest peak Piz Boè (3151 m), is the centre of this magnificent tour. The valleys of Val Lasties and Val di Mezdí, the most beautiful "off piste" downhill slopes in the Dolomites that cross through the Sella group are open until the middle of May by using the cable car from Pordoi Pass to Sass Pordoi.
Sellaronda is a route that takes in 4 Dolomites passes: Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Campolongo. The tour uses modern cable cars and lifts and the downhill slopes cover an area of 26 km and 4500 vertical metres.
You can get a copy of the Sellaronda from the hotel Reception or from any ski-lift or cable car station.
